On the 18th of August, for the first time, IE India & South Asia Office organized an IE Experience Day for existing and potential candidates with the intention of presenting a preview for their forthcoming experience at IE would be like. We had 25 candidates at the Experience day which lasted for a couple of hours comprising of a presentation of IE Experience an Alumni panel & ended with a Spanish networking lunch.
The presentation showcased the IE ideology, the various courses offered, campus pictures & videos as well as some campus details and facilities/amenities for the students. There was a productive discussion about student life and how it is for Indian students to adjust in Spain with special emphasis on travelling and food. After the presentation we had an Alumni Panel comprising of IE India IMBA Alumnus, Soham Mohidekar, scheduled to start his new role at Booking.com in Amsterdam, Netherlands & Matias Calleri who graduated in 2017 from the IMBA & currently works with IE as Associate Director in the HST team. Soham spoke about his experience at IE in detail including lectures, course work, food, adjustments and career opportunities. The panel was interactive; students felt comfortable to ask questions about various topics ranging from career specific progression opportunities, availability of specific foods, favourtie bars in Madrid, IE clubs, etc. For example, the safety of the city was asked with a question about the helpfulness of the Madrid Police Department to which Soham answered and assured them that they are very helpful with any kind of help in a troublesome situation.
The additional highlight to the event was the Spanish lunch which the IE team organized for the candidates and their friends and families who had also attended the event. The menu consisted of famous mouth-watering Spanish dishes like Paella, croquettes, and sliders. The attendees were very fascinated by the spread and on asking about the food, they all gave positive comments and appreciated the effort of the team.
