Coming off his international assignment for Sony FIFA Partnership Project Office in South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Earl Patton will join us for this exclusive videoconference on strategies that pertain to global sports activation. Earl will discuss how Sony and other global partners of FIFA and the World Cup manage and integrate various business developments and marketing strategies from digital, television, print, social responsibility, sales and marketing. In addition, Earl will discuss the role of various internal and external groups within a global activation to illustrate how a united front is a key component to the deployment and success to reaching return on investment.
Bio:Earl Patton, Jr. is Senior Manager for Sony FIFA Partnership Project Office (FPO) a division of Sony Corporation Brand Management Department in Tokyo, Japan. Earl joined the office January 2009 where he will be assigned to manage various aspects as it relates to Sony partnership with Federation International Football Association (FIFA) and sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Prior to his assignment Earl oversaw sports marketing for Sony Electronics Broadcast Business Solutions Company (BBSC) in the United States. As segment marketing manager Earl provided marketing and business development support for Sony segment initiatives in all professional and collegiate sports in conjunction with Sony United companies.
Prior to joining Sony, Earl served as the Director of Basketball Administration for the Cleveland Cavaliers where he worked closely with various levels within the Cavaliers front office and the National Basketball Association. Earl also headed music merchandising and strategic development for Columbiahouse.com (a division of Sony Entertainment) where he worked on business development, strategic marketing and digital conversion of their music catalog. Earl has also held executive and or consultancy positions with the Portland Trailblazers, Sony Entertainment, Capitol Records and EMCI.
Earl is also the founder of the Global Association of Marketing Executives in Sports (GAMES) a global community of sports visionaries and influential’s fostering cooperation and cross-border business development through virtual and live networking events to share ideas, best practices and trends from global markets. GAMES is organized by a group of dedicated volunteers from around the world.
Earl also mentors to provide students with resources and education advice in the career opportunities in the business of sports. Earl is a native of Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and holds a Masters Business Administration with Sports Management concentration from The George Washington University and is a candidate fro a Masters in Laws from the University of London.
